Towards the end of last year, The CMO asked me to write a chapter for an eBook titled The Chief Marketers Playbook. The book is geared toward new CMOs to learn strategies for excelling in their new roles. I contributed to a chapter on Building the Foundation of Your Marketing Strategy. The eBook launched late last week and is ready to read. For my readers only, I have included the ungated copy for you and a lot of the strategies in here across all chapters might be useful in your app growth journey.
Consistency
Consistency is a word you often hear in marketing, sales, across most areas of business, and life in general.
Being consistent is the key to achieving goals, creating trusting and lasting relationships, and developing habits that will build character. Sometimes, I wonder if I’m writing these newsletters to hear myself talk every week, but every now and then, I get messages from people I genuinely admire who let me know that my work and words are being read, heard, and respected.
My favorite messages are the ones I get when people say, “Hey, I tried that pricing experiment you suggested, and I’m seeing some early signs of positive MRR.” OR, “Your messaging around preparing for an agency meeting came at the perfect time, as an agency reached out to me to meet this week. I will make sure I do my research and come prepared to show them I not only understand their business needs but how to solve those needs with my solution.”
Word matter to people and they matter to me. Thank you to everyone who has given me feedback and positive reinforcement. As a solopreneur, it’s not often that I hear praise.
But rarely do I get a message from someone who is one of my heroes, which happened the other day. I was wondering if I should skip an episode because who really cares anyway…but then I received an ‘atta girl’ from a Shopifriend vet I truly admire. I didn’t even realize he was reading the newsletter. I’m humbled, and it pushed me to remain consistent. So, here I am showing up again in your inbox on a Wednesday.
Why does this matter to you?
You, too, need to remain consistent even when installs are down, clients are complaining, and things just seem to be moving in a not-so-great direction. By consistently putting one foot in front of the other and doing the damn thing, every action you take is a step forward in turning future moments into new opportunities. If you're feeling sluggish, I see, hear, and support you. Keep going. Keep putting in consistent actions to create future opportunities for your business. I promise you, it's worth it.
As a closing reminder, there are more than 4.4 million live Shopify stores globally. Let that sink in. The opportunities are endless. Keep going and grab a piece of that.
An App Spotlight
Fast Bundles has been around since 2020 and their media gallery hits a lot of the high notes that I strive for when creating a media gallery for my clients.
